Leighton’s entrepreneurial background is steeped in the telecom industry. Leighton cofounded Serrus Telecom Investments, which yielded significant above-average returns. Leighton has also served on boards in the automotive, banking and healthcare industries, including two terms as Chairman for the Greenville Hospital System, the largest healthcare organization in South Carolina.

Steve Mudge

With more than 30 years of real estate experience, Steve has earned a reputation for adding financial value to assets in both the public and private sectors. His corporate leadership roles include serving as EVP of Mixed Use Development for Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and as VP of Planning and Development for Centex Destination Properties. As co-founder of Serrus Capital Partners, Steve leads the investment efforts.

Mack Whittle

In addition to founding and serving as Chairman, President and CEO of the largest publicly traded bank holding company headquartered in South Carolina – Carolina First – Mack has served on a range of state and national boards, including the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the Palmetto Business Forum and the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts. Mack’s banking knowledge and extensive network proved extremely effective with Serrus Real Estate Fund 1.

Randy Dobbs

Prior to joining Serrus, Randy served as a Senior Operating Executive at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, one of the largest and most successful private equity firms in the US. His career at Welsh Carson was preceded by him serving as CEO of US Investigations Services, Inc. and its subsidiaries (USIS). Preceding USIS, Randy served as CEO of Philips Medical Systems, North America. Prior to leading Philips Medical, he completed a 27-year career at General Electric portfolio companies which culminated with him serving as CEO of GE Capital, IT Solutions.
